Hi All, as the thread says I am looking to get into milling on site have felled some massive oak and sweet chestnut and larch ....that are just being left where they fell. WHAT A WASTE!!!

I have approached the owner and they said carry on do what you want with them.

so I am looking at milling on site, but before I do I was wondering if anyone near to me would be willing to let me tag along and see how its done,

before I go out and buy a mill.

Cheers Matty.

Hi Matt hope all is well,

you would be welcome to borrow mine for a bit, I'm off work at the mo with a hand in plaster,

do you have a saw? I have a 36"er:lol:

Along with gran berg ripping chain

Do you have an old ladder? If not you can borrow that as well.

Have a look at rob d's videos on u tube, also I posted a link to a good online book on the milling forum a while back, although you will be needing to smoke a pipe to get the best boards!

It is criminal to leave good timber, but it is hard work though. I built a new pony shelter for my wife with mine so it's paid for itself in one project
