Bank - joined up thinking?

Phoned up Tesco bank to check my account and got the usual advert in my ear "did you know you no longer have to tell us when using your card abroad", oh great I thought as I need to order some spares from a company in Germany.

 

So I got home, ordered the spares and tried to pay with my Tesco credit card, after two attempts get a warning saying the transaction has been refused by my bank, then I get a text saying ring Tesco. Nice guy explains because I'd tried to use the card to pay in euros it had been blocked. When I ask about the advert he says he knows nothing about it.

 

So in reality if you want to use your card abroad YOU DO have to tell Tescos first.... crap advert AND a lack of joined up thinking.

My son worked in Jakarta for 18 months

 

EVERY. Time he bought something I got automated phone call querying payment, I'd authorise it over system and then eMail him .....pain in the arse

 

He bought iPhone in Jakarta and DAY AFTER. Warranty expired it failed, really obvious APPLE are putting timers in their stuff so it fails when warranty expires ......wifes iPhone failed three months after warranty expired .....
