Piping & Controls aux hydraulic's for Grab & rotator

Hello

We have recently purchased a 13t excavator for general use around our farm, forestry and loading a chipper.

We would like to fit our grab and rotator to the machine which hasnt got a service for a hammer etc.

We would also like to keep the bucket ram in use as the plan is to make up a boom and horse shoe arrangement for moving whole trees similar to this (please see video)

 

Some potential ideas have been

 

1.A pair of spool valves tapping into a supply somehow running the grab and rotate (hydraulic foot pedal or proportional coil rocker switch)

 

2.A pair of diverter valves on the end of the boom allowing the flip between rotate and crowd then an extra spool valve tapping into a supply somehow running the grab (hydraulic foot pedal or proportional coil rocker switch)

 

Not to sure on the foot pedal vs rocker switch idea anybody used either or which is most reliable and controllable?

 

Also will i blow my grab and rotator up will i need to regulate the pressure some how?

 

Any advise or ideas would be greatly received.

get a valve similiar to third service control valve on loader tractors i should think would be the easiest way mount at top of dipper and tap into crowd hydraulics this would give you proportional control cheeply and your joysticks may already be fitted with blank buttons or horn buttons that could be used to change over the services and put horn in dash or order new joysticks with buttons fitted
