The 'beast' of Holly Hill

Spent the weekend with friends wandering along the Hamble River and found a group of huge oaks. This particular oak (my daughters nicknamed the 'beast' - but only after they had got stuck up it and felt doomed to be eaten by it ) is possibly the biggest I have witnessed for a long time. It did have 5 major limbs at the multi-stem union in the pic but unfortunately some have snapped out and one recently (storm trouble I suspect). Needless to say the failed limb was mistaken for a felled tree it was so big! ATF need to go and inspect it for suitability in their archives me thinks!! :thumbup1:
