Can anybody enlighten me as to the meaning of the above with regards exemptions within a TPO. Thanks.

Statutory undertakers are people like the electricity and water companies. They're allowed to cut trees or excavate trenches nearby, provided it is done as part of their statutoty duties, such as keeping powerlines clear of branches or repairing sewage pipes.

As above. Trees on SU's land cannot be TPO'd because they have the right to do what they want to their own trees. 'Elf n' Safety, innit.

 

As far as I am aware, if a SU wants to carry out work on a tree outside of their land, for whatever reason, then the usual process still applies.

Thanks for that......for it might have been an ancient bye law that permits undertakers to cut down trees to make coffins during the plague or something.
