Hi guys,

Has anyone used a ripper tooth on a mini digger for pulling out stumps/ roots

I have a 3 ton Kubota with a thumb attached and I have quite a few roots to clear. I've Been looking online at the rsl root ripper and digbits make one also.

Just wondering if they work better than a narrow bucket before I order one.

Thanks in advance, Tom

Been using the rsl ripper for over a year on 8ton kubota but have snapped 2 points as it is a bolt in replaceable part It would be better if it had a digger bucket tooth like the digbits ripper. can't fault the blade on the back for cutting roots

Thanks for the replies.

I was leaning towards the rsl one because of the blade on the back . But now I am im not sure. Would a standard single shank type be as effective without the blade?

Having the blade on the rear is a real advantage I had a stump which needed taking down could not get a grinder nearing as in a ditch and had fibber optic telephone line running near to the sump I used the blade to break down the just below ground level leaving side nearest fibber line in disturbed if the desgin on the wear tip is changed it would be spot on
