Lots of shrinkage in the wood piles over the past few days. My lovingly stacked edges are looking a bit drunk - I can almost see the wood seasoning. Another 6 months of this and it'll be ready for burning :lol:

I was having a look at a stack of alder and ash I have and could not believe the splits that have appeared over the last week I am in central Scotland and its blowing a gale right now but pretty mild bring it on I say

I am in west lothian but have been working up in perth for the last week had some fine weather for seasoning. What timber have you got stacked ?

 

Mix of oak, beech, hornbeam and some alder - all drying nicely :thumbup1:

Nope - but they are up against a hedge, which offers some protection. I'm considering building some removable covers with pallets with tarpaulin over. I'm in no real rush for the logs though it's 15-16 stock, so it can get wet for now.
