242xp no spark

Tried new plug, no change. Infinite resistance on coil at rest with only 3 volts output on sharp pull. Think I'll "borrow" the one out of my mate's 254 if it'll fit and see if that works unless anyone has a better suggestion....

 

Usually a new spark unit will sort it but sometimes the fly wheel magnets loose their power .

Just so we're singing off the same hymn sheet: Husky call the bit by the flywheel the " ignition module" and the bit by the carb the " ignition coil". I was describing the ignition module previously. Can't change HT lead as is potted in ignition coil. I'm losing the will to live here........time for beer!
