Nice find David! I love campestre's but not seen any as mature as that...

 

Re: Work, I'd be happy to come and do some voluntary work on the Estate if you need a hand managing some of these beauties!!, or you just want to try some ideas out :001_smile:

I would like to pollard this elm this winter or i will loose it to dutch elm disease. I have lots of old pollard oaks that need re-pollarding but there is and never will be money for this sort of work. :001_smile:

 

Can you not get some students in to work on them for some experience? (supervised of course!)

Dan i love acer campestra as well. RE: WORK. That would be great i will PM you nearer the time. I have also got some giant oak pollards which are going to split down the bole so i am going to ask if i can also pollard some of these big meadow pollards. I want to do these oaks in stages so that i leave some boughs to draw the sap then after 5-6 years of growth i can take them out.:001_smile:

Hi David.....i work on all the veteran oak trees within Richmond Park. I would gladly come up and help you do some work with you if needed.
