Coupling Bellow ifor

On the subject of tipping trailers, I have a Bateson 263....today after tipping a load I pressed the control button to go down....it went down smoothly then suddenly dropped very fast about 2ft like the hydraulics had disappeared altogether, it then continued to sit back down as normal.

I tried to tip it again and it was fine, went back down fine as well, anyone got any idea of what happened with the sudden drop?

the 263 -

I get that on my landy from time to time, more if i havent used the tipper for a while. I have a 3 stage ram on it and the middle stage would drop about halfway before the small one, and then the smalll one would suddenly go in making he whole butt drop suddenly. Is your trailer very new, as the rams could be sticking- I am pretty sure that was the problem with mine; even though the small (3rd) stage was empty of oil, it was a bit jammed until the angle changed. I havent had the prob for quite a while now as the tipper gets much more regular use. Having said all that, i have never experienced the same with the ifor tipper, so my theory could be total bollox. Hope it may have helped though.
