remapping truck engines

Thats what worries me ive been tempted to do my car also a4 tdi but have known a few people get theirs done and they have problems. If I was to have it done I would rather have a map done specific to my car ironing out flat spots etc rather than go for a chip box.

 

You shouldn,t get any major problems if done well? Did they use a well know company? Your correct, you don't want a chip box, in a word there crap, I only do specific to each vehicle, I never reuse a map on another vehicle even if it's the same engine, year, and so on, each file is.custom to each vehicle

Not sure who they used mate. I had a 205 with an mi16 engine in that had bad flat spots and a bloke sorted that out for me he has a proper rolling road etc he does re-maps I may try one of his maps on the older transit see how it goes im not too bothered about the car as its good on fuel anyway and ive heard a re-map can affect the clutch?
