THREATS (tree safety survey)

Hi,

Following on from Sloth's post about QTRA, does anybody use THREATS for surveying? From the paperwork available online (http://www.flac.uk.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/THREATS-GN-June-2010.pdf) it suggests you can use it without having been trained in it (although there is a disclaimer of sorts, which doesn't make it clear whether it can be used defensibly without it).

I emailed JFL about this, as I had seen there was training available in it, also asking for clarification of whether anyone is entitled to use it but never received a reply.

I've had a play with it and it seems fairly straightforward. I'm not after some sort of bunfight about qtra vs threats, but how do people get on with it and how did you start using it?

Ta!

I like using the threats method, and have had no formal training in its use. I used it on paper before investing in pear tech software. I still use it on small jobs if a sketch plan is more suitable than purchasing a digital map. If the pear tech software had it as an option, I'd probably still be using it.
