Finished the Monolith. Got a sanding disc for the grinder and boiled linseed oil

Nice work mate. Thinking of trying this, wonder if it would be worth carving a number of mushys up and running a small advert in the local rag. Trouble is im more often knackered after a days climbing and the last thing i would want to do is start carving........................Been promising the girlfriend to a carve some mushys for the garden better do this first

I've worked out that if you rough carve a few mushrooms, leave them for a week then sand them up later, they don't seem as hard a job to do. Get a few done and stick them out by your front door. Amazing how many neighbours come along and ask/spread the word. Also, am lucky to have a yard within a farm. The farmer has already sold 3 for me this week and I'm now selling all my crap logs for garden chimneas!

Like the Monolith Treewarrior,

nice tip on on leaving them to stand for a while before sanding, have to give it a go. usually just sand straight away after carving.

 

Get some carved danny, for some reason mushrooms always seem to sell well.
