Hi, was wondering if anyone knows the differences between these two machines and if the new model is capable of any more production than the older model? Thanks

Hi are you talking about the old 600 or the 600tsve

I started with the old 600 in 1995 was an excelent

simple machine to use and very quick cut up to 12"

at a push then had 3 600tsve machines which had

electric controls for splitter height and to overide

the splitter very useful and conveinately placed

these made it slightly quicker,I never had any trouble

with the electrics on any of them. The combi is still

much the same machine but gone back to manual

controls although I have not had one.I think these are

still one of the best small processors out there .

I f you are only cutting up to 10 to 12" material

you won t get anything to do the job quicker.

Last point I always changed every 3 years.

Hope this helps Big Chris.

One issue with the Combi design is that the cord needs moving to the blade. using it with a rack will mean a 3m log will need chainsawing in half. Its one reason why I am thinking of changing my JAPA 700 which works on the same basis.

My old 600 and tsve used to take 3m lenghts easily

thats what i had was 3m hardwood pulp and put

1500 cubic metres through a winter. Don t see

why combi wouldn t be the same.Chris.

Its the feeding of the lengths, if your rack is reasonably close the back end of the log for the first few cuts is still on the rack, therefore it wont move forward to the blade.

2 solutions, a, don't use a rack, B, site the rack another meter away or have a long infeed on the machine.
