CS Chain Speed Calc

I'm wondering if there is a set calculation to find out the max. speed of a chain in m/s? I realise that one must take in to account the length of the chain, (number of links) and the engine revs. but trying to work it out is doing my head in.

 

Note. Trying to find out some saws' 'class' in relation to PPE required.

Chain pitch x number of teeth on sprocket x (rpm / 60) = chain speed (inches/second)

 

(Inches/second x 2.54) / 100 = speed m/s
