hi, thanks for the interest...its a case of right place right time...i was doing my IRATA training a few years back and met the Research Scientist for the RSPB on the course. His background was working on rock faces in India (as well as an experienced rock climber/mountaineer) to take vulture chicks into captivity, mine was tree and rock/mountain climbing. It kind of went from there. To be honest this work there is little need for more than two trained/experienced Arborists but if anything come up then I will give a head ups. I have heard of the RSPB doing IRATA type work in North Wales putting web cams on Cough nests on sea cliffs with the BMC help and I have been approached about ringing Coughs on sea cliffs in South Wales from the National Trust. The only thing I can think is to write up a CV and covering letter and send it off to such organisations.

Cheers Steve

i was in pokhara only 5 weeks ago. watching some nutter free climb around a tree on lake side doing a bit of line clearance work. would have been cool to see what your project was all about.

Yeah it was not me doing the free climbing on the lines!....what were u doing out in Pokhara??....we were only in Pokhara for a few days doing the Vulture conservation work as there were only 4 reported chicks in nests. At the end of the project I spent a week in Pokhara where I did the trek up to ABC and plenty of eating....great place and some great people...cheers steve
