I am keen to get into coppicing and would like to acquire an area to coppice. Does anyone know how you would go about or where you could find woodlands to coppice?

Thanks

Adam

area please would help may be able to help if in hampshire or google local coppice group and ask if a coppicer would like some help in return for learning the trade if you want wood then look for hazel woods find owner And ask do not be suprised if asked to leave or woods for sale but not cheap option be good if you can find one to rent but a good coppice wood is hard to find and if you do look at £70 plus per acre to rent. need a neglected wood that needs help may then get it for nowt in return for working it. but coppice group is what you need to find

There is no coppice group in the Midlands. I tried to get the National Forest to sponsor such a group but I was met with total indifference. You could get in touch with the Leicestershire Wildlife Trust to see if they need some help. If you have the requisite chainsaw certificates I would have thoght that they would have welcomed you with open arms.
