Softwood delivered in price.

Recommended Posts

Just been quoted £35 a cube for mixed processor size softwood delivered into my yard near Chepstow. Looking to ditch hardwood so looking to bolster my softwood output and looking to bring in five lorry loads either eight wheeler or artic to see how it goes. Would prefer mixed SS,DF,JL and WRC. I'm a realist so I know how things have gone up in price, but is that a fair price? If anyone can offer a similar or better price feel free to pm me.

"looking to ditch hardwood"; same here - softwood is the way :thumbup1:

We're £28/m3 roadside for semi-seasoned processor size; £25-26 if it's a bit uglier; xport varies on distance in 10 mile increments but £35 sounds v reasonable yo

Larch is the favourite by far followed by DF (df nicer to process but larch seems to get snapped up)

Do you have big knot free stuff I could make kindling out of. 20 in stuff is good for the Mizer. How much would it cost for an 8 wheeler to Andover Hampshire.

Wish you'd asked that a few months ago! :thumbup1: Had 2 loads of 3.7 clean larch that I let go for a song as it wasn't mill grade (or risk of rejection grade anyway). Reckon haulage from tamar area would have been £500 for an artic...

Ooh, thinking about it I have 200 tonne of larch on the radar - not seen what size it is yet but will keep in mind...

You did mean larch? Got a bit of DF that's oversize for processor... Very likely to have an 8 wheeler of that by the end of this week altho there are others interested - bidding war!

I had a bad experience with larch too many knots but may have been unlucky. I like df and western red currently using poplar. Can't get an arctic in here has to be 8 wheeler have a jcb 525 with forks to unload so may not need a crane. I love auctions know just how to play that game bring it on
