Hi guys just wanted to ask how easy is it to swap out the coil in a 025. I've been having problems getting it started lately and I can't seem to see a spark coming from the plug.

Thanks

Gareth

You do know you need to earth the base of the plug to test it??

It is a simple job to change it - recoil cover off, take off the plug cap, undo the two retaining bolts, take off the kill wire, refit with the new coil and use a business card between the magnets and coil to set the gap. Reclip the kill wire:thumbup:

Before you change the coil its worth getting someone to put a spark tester on it, as just looking at the spark is not really sufficient unless you really know what a good spark should look like.

Your starting issue could lie elsewhere and just changing bits can be an expensive way to make a diagnosis.

Yep that one I do know I use what's best described as a mini jump lead and earth it to the chainsaws exhaust
