Certification?

Do yourself and everyone else a favour and make a stand against the ever increasing tide of red tape and regulation. If you take the brushcutter course, (CS56b) then the next logical step would be your abrasive wheels course (CS29C). From there on the only place you can really go is the 'trousers on the right way round' qualification (R3TRD), and the wiping your ass NVQ.

If you know what you're doing, then that should shine through in the quality of your work. You're presumably not chasing the council work, etc, where such tickets are an all consuming obsession.

You forgot to mention you also need a fully trained and competent person to stand next to you at work to remind you to breathe in and out in the correct order :001_cool:

Thanks for the replies.

What I was looking for is what tickets I need to hold to operate machinery (other than a chainsaw) for work purposes as a self-employed person working alone for private clients - I think I've got it now... None! (Depending on insurance - I've checked and they are fine with strimmers/brushcutters/hedgetrimmers/rotavators/flamethrowers..... Have to enquire with them about chippers.)

I do understand the 'benefits' of holding tickets for various things, but at the moment I think I've got more pressing things to spend money on. Plus having recommissioned most of my equipment from parts and scrap the 'maintenance' part of the course might just be lost on me.

If I've got the wrong end of the stick on this, someone wipe it off and turn it round for me :thumbup1:
