Dolmar/Tillotson injection carburettor help please?

Hello!

I have a Makita DCS6000i (Domar PS6000i), and need a tiny bit of help with the choke valve.

Does this valve just have two positions, or does it unscrew all the way out?

I ask because at the moment it runs with the switch in the choke position, and cuts out in the 'start' position (and won't start).

I wonder if at some point the valve has been turned 180 degrees which would cause this to happen, but I don't want to ruin the carb if this isn't the case (by turning it 180 degrees back).

It'd be easy to do this (by accident or design)...

If I keep turning the valve clockwise, should it eventually fully seat, or does it turn indefinitely?

:confused1:

Thanks so much for that!

Those threads were very helpful. I'll fiddle more today, and if I can't get anywhere then I'll see if that chap can offer any ideas...

Thanks again.

TCD, do you have a price in mind? Maybe you could PM me if you do?

Cheers!
