Mine has the twist grip half way up the shaft, is the Tanaka one where it can only be stored at 90 degrees and has the thumb nut rather than right back over on itself?

 

Only reason I ask is that I got mine off ebay and wondered how old it is? It has the twist grip and is an x series

 

The model plate on the engine has the date it was made
