Generally the springs do not require changing, the most important requirement is to keep the top roller slide plates well greased as per the machine manual service instructions, this will help stop any "hang up" of the top roller.

Springs do weaken slightly during use, this is normal for any spring, but should not affect the pulling power of the rollers if the greasing regime is observed every 50 hours.

If you do not have a manual for your machine, a copy can be downloaded from the web site Timberwolf UK | Introduction.
