Riko splitter stability

I'm pretty sure I'm going Riko over Thor and think petrol motor rather than pto driven. However there's a problem. I would like to transport on the three point linkage and use there for stability. Soft ground abounds here and I'd rather split in situ and can imagine if not on linkage it will tip. But there's no vertical version of petrol motor with linkage, it'd have to be a horizontal. That's not the best.

Maybe I should go pto and electric. Only reason not to use pto is to look after tractor and to avoid safety issues of pto.

Any experience that can help me decide?

Have a natter with Jim@Riko - if you want a petrol one with three point linkage brackets then he'd be the man to make it happen :thumbup1:

Hi Dave, it should be possible to supply a petrol machine with linkage. I am just working on seeing what the additional cost would be.

Just FYI, the PTO version is slightly quicker than the petrol version. The electric model is the same speed as the petrol roughly, but it is quiet!

I wonder wether the dual PTO/electric might be best of both worls for yerd work and portability, but it does depend entirely on what is going to suit you best.
