Vermeer 620i with hatz 2g40h engine

evening all, I have one of the above but I cant see how to increase the diesel pump .. it seems to rely purely on rev and just doesn't sound like its really working as hard as it should when chipping..

 

any help welcome

get a tachometer to read the rpm before you do anything it could be a fuel restriction then see what you should have. also check that the throttle cable is pulling the rack up to the stop

we recently had a air leak on the fuel system so its had a new lift pump as one of the one way valves was a little shot, also all pipes and clips have been renewed together with new filter and a tank clean, its always seemed to not have the grunt it should..

 

the throttle opens fully and has a adjustable stop on the body, originally the engine was from a military generator and was running set rev using this stop which I have adjusted to let it rev however it only uses a gallon and a half per day running all day? never blows any smoke even under strain..

if its came from a generator it could be the wrong governor
