Anyone able to suggest easy to follow book's/ website's that can show how to back splice and eye splice, as the old book's i've got arn't to clear on how to do it and it's driving me nut's. Using some 10 mm polyprop till i get it sussed. Starting to think i may find it easier with a thicker rope but the missus isn't too happy with me dragging a large coil of rope into the kitchen to "fanny about" as she put's it!!

my tips, over one under one, don't tuck the same strand twice (side by side).

take your large rope and cut off a few meters, then you're only dragging a few meters in, or get to B+Q and buy a few meters

for a backsplice start with a crown knot then tuck away.

keep going, everyone shpuld be able to splice 3 strand, you can make so many useful things.

then get some multiplait its a horror but not as hard as a tuck splice on tenex (not the standard bury)
