Got a make or model and some pics please.

I was going to say belts and bearings but if they are new and have been checked then I'm unsure really without seeing it.

Are you sure the main pulley is ok and the tensioner pulley is ok. Sounds like the belts maybe slipping all the time of it went through two new ones.

http://www.goldstarengines.com/product_images/m/888/WT160T__39959_zoom.jpg this should show you a picture looks as if echo uk do not bring them in any more.

well it has a pully on the engine which goes to the pully on the head now the head has a shaft which goes through two bearings one at top one at bottom .

what i can not get my head round is it will work fine can use it for poss 4 hours stop it go to start and head just does not turn you can hear the belt trying to turn it as if not quick can smell burning rubber.

dealer say they have stripped the head and found nothing wrong but my guess is its the shaft or bearing one is getting to hot and jamming on the other. by time i get it back its working fine well spins but not like it should.fed up with it DR was a dream never had any bother with that would cut through anything without missing a beat. trouble was it was old when i got it so was abused and in the end head just fell to bits was going to cost over £200 to fix if anyone has any bright idear then more the merrier need it fixed getting behind with work using only a cow horn

Hmm. Something is getting hot and sticking. Just the stop that means it has time to tighten up and seize, if you Carried on would it keep going for the entire day or not.

I really would think a bearing is getting hot, then the stop is allowing it seize up and get tight, but once it cools for a bit it frees up.

Maybe gardenkit can help a it on this.

found out that in fact it is a echo bear cat which is a off shoot of echo. big in the states. i have sent a email to bearcat asking for there advice as looking at vidio of it working it should be able to do what i am asking it to do. re bearings my thoughts. have asked dealer to look at bearings and shaft eg pull it apart to see if there are any blus spots on shaft or bearings are looking dodgey. just taking head off and spinning it is not going to find out the fault. and as for puting a bigger belt on. can see this putting a load on engine.

see what comes from bearcat, and if needed take to a bearcat dealer.

well i have found in the past the Americans very good to replying to emails re products. sadly not the case with bearcat not come back at all. as for machine well its in workshop. when i get it back the season will be over.

so good money spent on a machine thats done if lucky 4 hours work.

cost me money in fuel using cow, horn line, and my time as taken longer to do jobs. still going to saltex may need to go on there stand. see what they have to say.
