Invested in one of these - a 5910890 4400 Stihl pulling device for crankseals. Plenty of vids showing the final stage of screwing in to pull out.

Question - what's the proper technique for getting the jaws into the seal in the first place? Push down on the rubber part? Break through into the metal part?

Is there a Stihl table that says you use these particular set of jaws on this saw as it comes with 5 sets of jaws?

Is there an instruction booklet for the tool?

Thanks a lot.

The pullers work better on larger seals, I cut through the rubber part and then select the jaws with the largest lip that can be pushed in. I also crank up the screws to make them really tight on the seal.

They can work really well or be a bit of a PITA on smaller seals!
