I had the same problem. In the end i just removed the rear seats and insured it as a 3 seater!

The problem is because any commercial vehicle with more than 6 seats is classed as a minibus!

The legal definition of a minibus is as follows:-

"Minibus" - a motor vehicle which is constructed or adapted to carry more than 8 but not more than 16 seated passengers in addition to the driver.

So, a minibus has 9 to 16 seats.

Over 16 seats it becomes classed as a coach.

Sounds odd. My disco seats seven, but its never been an issue for insurance.Shop around.Think i`m with Admiral at the moment.

So do most Volvos and they aren't classed as minibuses, although they are usually driven like buses!
