Hi all...why do people who have walnut which is white think they will get the same price as black walnut... Been offered 2 stumps recently but they asking a fortune for them ... Puzzles me

Because they think walnut is walnut maybe. Isn't a good specimen of white worth more than a poor one of black? I don't know...

By 'white' do you mean J. regia or cinerea?

Nigra is the American walnut.

This is a fast growing tree that is mainly grown for its timber.

I have a few here and they seem to be doing well but I believe the leaves are poisonous to horses and other animals.
