Lost Driving License

I'm off on Hols beginning of next and went to book car hire today and it appears I have lost both bits of my license.

 

Does anyone know if you can get a replacement license quickly online they say 10 days which is too long.

The car hire company should be able to telephone a premium rate telephone number for the DVLA and they will confirm your details, you may have too have a three way conversation. When I have hired cars before all they wanted was the paper part and a copy of my passport. Good Luck where are you off to?

I have still got my old licence where the picture expired, would my driver licence number be the same? I am going to call Dvla in the morning they have an office in Chelmsford.

 

I'm off to Spain for a fortnight, thanks for the info.

Yes i believe the number is the same. It has your initials DOB and yours will have JIGG in it I think.

Yes your right thanks, I spoke to DVLA this morning and was very impressed with them! They are faxing my details over to the car hire firm for £5.00 and posting me a replacement license. So all sorted :-)
