Hi,

So I've been carving for around 9 months and my usual pieces are mushrooms, kids chairs and owls. I'm getting there with my owls, but I'm still not 100% satisfied.

Anyway, a friend asked me to make her an owl for her dad as a fathers day gift which got me thinking about my old man. So, after I finished her owl, I carved my dad an axe.

Love the axe, I did a few to try and shift for fathers day, but they sell well anytime. I guess it depends how much you charge.

The owl looks great too...I started on mushrooms and got so into carving I do bits off alsorts now...

Just curious Ross. Did you carve the axe out of green or seasoned timber? I'm no carver by the way just fascinated!!

Ps Very nice present for your old man
