Go out in chainsaw gear? Sod that, spend all day sweating in them, covered in green slime sawdust and mud, cant think of anything worse, and disrespectful to the landlord of the pub. Or do you keep a clean pair to change into for going out? When in the pub, if I'm approached re:tree work, I give em a bus. card, and ask them to call me in office hours, as I'm out relaxing, and they will try to hold you to some ridiculous price made over a drink on the back of a beermat.

Andy, i think i must be quite lucky in that my local is used by a lot of tradesmen including builders, electricians, plumbers, a decorator and three gardeners who all pop in for a couple after work and we all stay in the snug which has a tile floor and very hard wearing fabric on the seats. That and the fact that the landlord is a plumber doesn't harm and he's often sat in there with us often in a worse state than we are.
