HI guys,

New to the forum so please forgive me if i've missed a sticky or previous thread on this.

I'm just looking for some tips and advice on going self employed and climbing/working for other people.

Just a bit of background info. I'm 22. I have being climbing for about five years now, and really enjoy it. Own climbing kit and MS201T (amongst other bits and pieces). I've being working for the same company pretty much since I started (and still enjoy working for them). But now due to only getting three - four days a week I've decided I would like to top up my working week by working for different people.

Some of my questions may seem daft but I'm struggling to find straight answers on the subject.

What is the best way to go about it? I will still be employed by the company I currently work for. So can I be self-employed and Employed at the same time?

Do I need to get my own liability insurance when I work for others?

Any tips and advice would be much appreciated.

My self employment is normally at two estates , and I now only have public liability works for me , but if your climbing go for personal liability , public liability , tools in transit , and an accountant , once your name gets about you probably will get your own work hopefully , good luck!
