I think this thread has been covered before so advance apologies If the answers stay the same,

Does anyone know if there are any UK dealers for Meteor parts,

I'm after two piston and barrel sets for MS361 (not Stihl's greatest I know!), I'm reluctant to buy Stihl new ones, and even more reluctant to go Chinese after recent advice, there are Meteor pistons on eBay but no barrels.

Advice greatly received. :001_smile:

To be honest the barrels are generally ok. I have fitted a meteor piston into a "Chinese" pot before. Saw is still running strong and that was last year.

Meteor dont do the pots just the pistons.

My advice is just to stay clear of the really cheap pots. It's really only the rings that are rubbish on the Chinese stuff.

I'd buy from GHS - they offer a 1yr warranty on all their parts and I've had no issues with returns on parts which are no good. At the price they charge you can't go too far wrong, unless it absolutely has to be right first time.

I think I might run one on a Stihl pot and piston, and the other on a eBay job, there's a few on there.

One of the original barrels split right in two on the horizontal, from a obvious inclusion in the casting, Stihl weren't having any of it under warranty, gits.

Just run an ordinary pot but with a meteor piston. You won't be displeased with the piston.
