If you count the drive links you can pick any chain here Custom chain loops

If you're not sure which part are the drive links they are the bits that sit inside the bar... and there are links on the above page to help ID the chain you have,

:001_smile:

yeah I know that, its 50 drive links.

Was just looking for opinions on type of chain and chisel type etc.

Cheers

Mike

Given the fact that you (probably) have a 1.1 mm (0.043") kerf bar, you will not have much choice. It's semi-chisel or semi-chisel (Stihl or Oregon). And given those choices, I doubt anyone would recommend anything but Stihl!

If you want to have the choice of full chisel, you'd need a 1.3 mm (0.05") kerf bar, which would be 12" (or longer).

OK, if the question is about semi-chisel vs full-chisel on a top handle saw (I guess it's not a Stihl or Husqvarna, given it's 10" 1.3 mm/0.05"), have a look at this thread discussing the subject (after the Stihl MS201T started shipping with full-chisel chain) http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/31191-new-ms201t-chain-what-do-you-think.html
