Looking forward to it, just wondered if anyone had any tips or recourses they could share which helps at all, I have just under a month to get some knowledge in, and I am going try not use a saw to get any bad habits I have been told this can happen a bit!

First. Hi.

 

Yes you can pick up bad habits but I found I lost them straight away. Listen to the instructors and don't get in a major flap over anything. If you don't know or understand then say so.

 

I found that it was all very relaxed and put in a straight forward way. Bull poo baffles brains approach.

 

Everything you need to pass the test is covered on the course.

What Rich said really. Don't hesitate to ask questions.

 

Get a feel for holding the saw on it's side with bar parallel to the ground. The flatter you can get the bar, the better your cuts will match up.

 

Enjoy it. It's loads of fun!

Try using your thumb on the throttle lever rather than your fingers. It will naturally hold better as you are not bending your wrist. It will be on the course. Better to go there noing nothing as you will learn more.
