Im also interested in this european social fund that can pay for NPTC's. any links or phone numbers??

i was fortunate to live in the scottish borders, where forestry is one of the main industries, i believe, if you live in such an area, then the esf give grant aid towards forestry based training (apparently the average age of forestry workers in the uk is 47!!) There are local charities that get these grants and distribute them.

The ones that i have dealt with in the past are forestry contractors association http://www.fcauk.com/business.htm and Northwoods http://www.northwoods.org.uk/

these people sometimes do a percentage of cost grants and sometimes pay all of your costs, but only periodically.

i got most of mine through barony college in dumfries and galloway, where they claimed the grants and i paid the difference if there was any, i think it helps if you are very young (18-21) but i'm not and i still managed it.
