066 problem

Hi peeps,

broke the chain break handguard the other day and while I'm waiting for the replacement to arrive I thought I'd investigate the problem.

My first question is, how do I remove the metal oiler plate under the bar studs?

I can't see any obvious fixings and I can't remove the internal plate surrounding the clutch without taking it off.

What am I missing here guys?:confused1:

Also the brake band is on, I assume I can release it once I have the mechanism exposed.

Cheers,

Si

The oiler plate should just have a small slot screw holding in on. If the clutch surround wont come off it may of got hot and melted a little around the drum, a good pull with pliers should do it. Ensure all the torx screws are out, I think there's four on that saw. If none of that works, drum off I'm afraid.

Cheers Lee,

sussed it:001_smile:

The oiler plate was one of those snap on/off types:001_rolleyes: was just going at it too tentatively.

Clutch surround came off easy, released the spring and worked out the mechanics of the busted handle in readiness of its replacement:thumbup:
