Can you do this in reverse? I had some saws nicked a while ago, stupidly I didn't have the serial numbers written down and the place I brought them from is no longer trading?

As long as the dealer you got them from had registered them with Stihl.

If any of your kit has unique identifying marks - broken bits, cracks etc - that you can describe accurately I'd contact Herts Police and put it to them.

Mine was a while ago, and Im a fair way away from there to

Thats a clever system, I presume in that case my local dealer can do the same. I'll ask him next time I'm in just may be worth passing that info onto the police as at the moment the serial number would not flag up anything untoward.

Afternoon All,

Just got back from the Hemel Police station, most of the equipment there is quite old and looks like its from gardens sheds, but there are a few bits of newer kit which looks a bit more commercial, large Sthil back pack blowers.

The Police are still putting together a full list of whats there and serial numbers, so it may be worth while contact them nearer the end of next week.

Thanks,

Ian
