ms 200 thread sheared on crank

never seen this happen before. the threaded end of the crank sheared off my ms 200, left the clutch loose inside.

 

next day, exhaust broke on another 200, and exhaust fell off another 200.

 

are chain catchers made of cheese these days, i get through about 2 a week at the moment, im sure they used to last years not hours:thumbdown:

The 200 is an old saw now, perhaps as a big user of toppers a newer version maybe worth looking into. Keep up with the times brother, the 201 is the future:thumbup1:

Chains are only "caught" if they "come off". The main causes for a saw throwing a chain are bad maintainance or bad use practice. Are the guys keeping upto speed or just hammering these saws because they are over the hill? Not being funny mate, it does happen when kit gets old.
