Hi people right.... Iv got some cracking elm that I have slabbed down for legs for a rustic bench I'm making, stuck my fan dangled moisture gauge into it and it reads 10% moisture!!! Awsome!!!! But there's a problem, iv found no end of wood worm larva in it!!!! God dam!!! My question is,,, is it worth treating the legs for my bespoke garden benches or is it a lost cause???? And should I just burn the wood????? I have sanded 1 set of legs down just incase, they have come up amassing seems such a waste of wood but..... Any answers would b cool, I'm on fb as ginner ollie my benches are on there :-0

I don't know much about this stuff but I thought Borax etc. only stop new wood worm getting in? So the ones inside are free to munch away but no new larva would get in?

Someone told me about sticking it in the deep freeze for 3-4 days as the only way to make sure they are dead the whole way through. Were they pulling my leg?
