I think the drift saves files in a standard format which can be used in most editing software, I used pinnacle studio before, but its quite power hungry, and annoying crashes can lose alot of unsaved work... I now use Sony Vegas 12, its alot smoother to use, pretty easy to pic up too, I dont have any experience with other software, my advice would be to download the free 30 day trial from the Sony website, at least you dont waste any money that way.

 

If you wanna make some cool videos with royalty free music, use real player to download royalty free music from YouTube.
