fair enough! wasnt quite close enough to look at properly. it reminded me of the trails that mining insects make through leaves.

 

Argh, dont take too much notice of opinion, at the end of the day, you was there you see it far better in the context of its natural nieghbourhood than we can on a photo alone.

haha i was probably getting carried away. the site was absolutely pitted with phellinus of different of all shapes and sizes, so i was running about all over the place with the camera, so could have missed a clue or two
