Not one of mine Tony, this is in the management of English Heritage at Kenwood House, but sits next to one of my target paths.

As far as I know there is no plan to reduce.

I would if it was mine, canopy is looking progressively sparse, so this may aleviate sail load.

I'll post a pick of it in leaf if I can find it.

Off home now for a spot of me youngests birthday cake :001_smile:

whats with the de turfing monkey?

Prepping for the mulch & "generic" Mycorrhyza soil injection, that EH had carried out on this and few other trees along this strip.

(not made mention of the mycorr in the blurb) :confused1::sneaky2:

Wasn't too impressed by the moat that was cut at the perimeter, lots of (although small) roots severed.

Plus this work was right on top of a Podocypha multizonata patch, which is rdl & one of the Biodiversity Action Plan species for London

Do you know what monkey it aint just them, EN are letting the managment destroy a sssi called Whippendell woods. I looked up the annual report that apparantley suggested no rise in detrimental activity nor problems that needed further inspection. This is total BS, Ive walked this wood for 15 years or more and Its being dug up by You tube videoing Mountain bikers with pics shovels and barrows. The "chosen contractors" are going in with a mog and ripping shallow beech roots while they go in to fell a meripilus beech in mid fruiting spreading the spores into the damage theyve done as they go!

and two weeks a go they felled another merip beech straight onto an decent Oak and took the bark right off on one side of it.

I am fuming cos the guys that asses and make the orders ern twice what I am on and doing a crap job of it.
