Back there tommorow, will get a shot with a tad more context..

I thought it was more curvacious? or foliace as they say.

interesting, I thought I had shot the crystal brain but yours looks different, maybe juvenile?

Can you post your image?

Here's a couple more shots from the site.

These show what's possibly two different stages of either E thuretiana & E nucleata ...........or two different species.

Tb, i'm puzzled, as pictures vary greatly in references - Jordans, Keizer, Collins, BioImages, Rogers doesnt even have either.

Nice finds Sean,

did you need a nose peg to get the phallus shots :001_tongue:

The veil/ring on the yellow P is remarkable, what's the species?.

 Yes they can be a bit smelly, I took those shots whilst walking Leon (in the Avatar) so the smell was a welcome distraction for him

The Bridal Veil is Phallus indusiatus (used to be Dictyophora indusiata)

I'm off swimming with the kids, just aint enough hours in the day.

Try and get over to the saxon ditch (hardicanoutes) , just outside on a fallen Beech is or was a Hericium coralloides.

Happy hunting :001_smile:

Well happy, not the location you suggested, this was tucked out of site and a really good clump, this was in better condition than the big clump behind this standing dead.

My first find of hericium Corraloides, grid location logged for another search next autumn for a freash and gorgeous photo!

I also found what appears to be a clump of degraded polyporus umbelatus which is also my first find and location again logged on the GPS for a better sample this autumn.

The burnham beeches never fail to impress me, amazing. Shall post my finds in a thread entitled Walk with buff amougst the Beeches!

Although not as rare as H erinaceus, I'm sure Helen would still be interested in it's location if they don't know already.

ftr, I believe she would offer cream cakes for an erinaceus find :001_tongue:

Nice find Tony
