I just read that on a smoking web site, they also said try using Cherry wood.

So again, if anyone has any alder, hickory, apple, cherry or oak chips I can give you some pretty nice tasting chutneys :laugh1:

It was only a small Oak, and the decision was based on the fact that they don't have planning permission, but as the client is Gloucester County Council you'd think they would have that sort of thing covered!

Muppets, you would have also thought the TO would have noticed the 300yr old oak in moreton's recreational park with a 2m stress crack along one of the main branches hanging over a well used path.

Well tree oficer is a different thing, they are District council, hence my not doing this oak, county not speaking to district etc.

Work is at Blockley Primary school, so County organised but still needs district go ahead! Oak is only 8-10 inch dbh, nothing major, a few bags of chips though.

it's allways they way in these cases. With the right hand not speaking to the left.

Thanks for the offer though it's nice to know, but if you do happen to come across any of the above just let me know and we can supply you with cash or chutneys, we make a mean Apple, Mint and Chillie relish which is blinding on bbq meats or roasted veg if you are that way inclined.
