Hey matt, fantastic set of pics :thumbup1:

Can I be really cheeky and ask how do you achieve that effect on the pic on your avatar? I have seen it on some time lapse videos as well but cannot find the name of, or how to do the effect :confused1:

Ta, James

Hiya James, thanks :001_smile:

I do not think you are being cheeky :D The effect is a basic "Tilt Shift" I did not use an expensive tilt shift lens though.

I took the photo with my phone and then applied that filter when I was faffing about with Instigram app and recognized that filter as a tilt shift style effect.

I have been using the technique on other photos a good while before I had a smartphone, you can do it with photo editing software. But the basics are you want to gently blur out the top and bottom and keep the focus on the point of interest.

When done well it makes for a surreal miniaturized model looking scene.

I hope that sort of answers it for you :P I have not yet had my coffee :laugh1:

And I have noticed most if not all of the tree planting photos have managed to escape the upload. :001_tt2:
