My saw puddles oil underneath it when left standing on its base. It has done this for some time. Is this normal or have I a leak I need to fix?

Any help appreciated.

TIA

I've found most stihls with the tool less filler caps do this.

Although I have found if you clean all the saw dust and crud out of the hole where you poor the oil in the tank and around the o ring on the filler cap make sure it's all nice and clean it at least slows it and most times stops it altogether. Think the bits of saw dust just stop the o ring from giving a positive seal.

Worth a try.

Common problem this, mines the same. I've tried new o rings, cap etc with no joy. I just try to run mine low or leave it on it's side now.
