I'd appreciate folks thoughts on the above. I'm after a new table splitter and was just thinking petrol as thats what I've always had. I curious of the electric driven ones as I'm usually beside a power point anyway.

I was thinking the electric driven might be cheeper to run??

Cheers

Electric splitter is...

:thumbup1: Cheaper to buy

:thumbup1: Cheaper to run

:thumbup1: Cheaper to maintain

:thumbup1: Quieter (although some make an annoying whining sound)

:thumbup1: Less smelly

:thumbup1: Lighter

 Less mobile (needs electric outlet)

 Less power

 Slower operation (typically)

I have an electric Ryco a12 splitter. We use it all day long usually 1 day per week to split knotty arb waist, I am yet to find a bad thing to say about it. Can't comment on petral but we did use a pto one at first and the noise all day long was horrible!
